Why would a doctor tell my mom that a small aneurysm is no big deal?!

Question: Why would a doctor tell my mom that a small aneurysm is no big deal!?
My mom had one to burst and it nearly killed her!.!.(Had surgery on her head, and she had to learn to walk all over again) She is still recovering from that, she is doing very well but she has another one in her head which they said was very small and between bones!.!.!.
The doctor told her today that he was not worried about it!.!.
I mean won't it grow and finally burst!? How could it not be a big deal!?
I told her she needs to go to a different doctor!.
Do you know anyone who has one of these in their head and nothing is being done about it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
i'm no expert on these matters but i do know that my auntie died because one burst in her head and any doctor who says they are of no concern should think twice before he speaks and maybe retake an ethics class!.

This doctor sounds very heartless and uncaring especially given the circumstances here that your mom already had one burst!.
i would think that after your mom having one burst and almost killing her the finding of another is a VERY big deal and i would take your mother to another doctor for a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, Cerebral Aneurysms don't always grow and burst you know :) Half the time they resolve themselves!. BUT there is always a risk with them, I would go to a different doctor!. There;s a hospital here that is notorious for killing patients!. I had a relative with a small aneurysm once!. One doctor said he needed surgery, another said that he didn't, so they didn't operate!. He died!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe so that she remains calm!. i know when someone's told that they have a fatal disease (and such), they freak out for, well, the rest of their lives!. that's never good!.
but maybe it's no big deal!. of course it's a big deal, but maybe it's not fatal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sorry that this has happened, but it is very possible that this new discovery in her head could be not as intense as the last one!. If you don't trust this doctor, perhaps you should get a second consult on it!. There's no shame in that when you are worried about the safety of someone you care about!. this answer may not have been what you were looking for, sorry, but i hope i helped in some small way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Basically, the anuerysm itself isn't the problem!.!.!. it's worrisome, but, it's not the problem!. The problem is when it ruptures, which it sounds like you've already experienced!. I'm very sorry for your mother, but glad to hear she is doing well!. The reason he MIGHT not be worried about it is if it's below a certain size and followed over a period of time and seen not to change, it's less likely that it will rupture!. Certainly important to keep an eye on it and manage her risk factors as best she can!.
It's possible it won't grow!. It's certain that going after it surgically involves some risk!. I could see why that decision might be made!.
But, if you and your mother are truly not comfortable with that it's always a good idea to get a second opinion!. And, ask questions of the doctor, either her current one, a new one, or both!. They should be able to explain to you what it is about her case and the character of the aneurysm they've found that they feel it's not something to worry about!.

Wish you and your mother the best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
