Answers:
With your toes going into gangrene usually there will be severe pain and backish discolouration with warmth in that area!.But if you are diabetic you may not experience pain due to peripheral neuritis and just purplish black colour of skin and warmth around it is the sign of gangrene!.Fell for the pulsation of the dorsalis pedis artery on the dorsum of your foot!. often the pulsation goes before a vascular insult to your leg!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The tingling feeling could be a neuropathy!. Diabetics are prone to numbness in the extremities!. A main factor of diabetics having trouble with their feet in addition to high blood sugars that suppress the immune system from healing well, is the fact that sugar drops in the body!. Circulatory trouble ensues and extra caution should be taken with your fingers and toes!.

Gangrene is hard to miss!. The smell alone will send you to the ER!.

I suggest meeting with your endocrinologist and get a good neurologist to see how far along your neuropathies, if any, have progressed!. Also, any opthamologist could look into the back of your eyes to rule out retinopathy!. Stay on top of your condtion!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When is your next visit to your doctor scheduled!? If it's not soon you might want to give them a call and explain what's going on!. Then they make the decision that you need to be seen!.

Sounds like the doctor should at least be aware of the redness and numbness so he/she can follow-up on any changes!. I've included some info for you to read also!.
