What causes your ears to ring?!

Question: What causes your ears to ring!?
My ears have been ringing off and on, I have also had really bad headaches!. Are they related!? What causes your ears to ring!? How can I make it stop!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Its called tinitis!. I have it myself, and it can be very annoying!. I don't have the headaches though

Normally sound is heard by the vibrations of the hairs inside the ear - these vibrations cause a signal to go to the brain, which turns these vibrations into a "sound"!. Tinitis is where these little hairs vibrate inappropriatly - ie in the absence of sound waves!.

You need to go see a doctor though, and be referred to an ENT (ear, nose, and throat specialist)!. Many things can cause tinitis, most of the time it is idiopathic (no physiological cause) but sometimes it can be more serious like some disorders or infections, or rarely, brain tumours!. So see your doctor and rule out anything else, but don't be too alarmed, most cases are simply just Tinitis by itself, without an underlying cause

There are some medications your doctor may prescribe to stop it, there are not many available and there is some doubt to if they actually work or not, but if it is really that disruptive to your every day life, anything is worth a try!. Your next step is to see your doctor and ask to be referred to an ENT, before making any more decisions!.

Goodluck! I honestly do feel your pain, I have had Tinitis since I was 7!. They think it was due to a severe ear infection when I was a toddler, which left me deaf for a few months!. I had to have speech therapy because of it!. And later on I developed Tinitis!. Oh wellWww@Answer-Health@Com

Question #1: Ear trauma, ear infection (external/middle/inner ear), Meniere's disease, damage to the acoustic nerve, hypertension, cerumen build up, hypernatremia, otosclerosis, some medications can all cause tinnitus but most is idiopathic, meaning no known cause!. Some uncommon causes are brain aneurysm and acoustic tumor!. There are still more causes of tinnitus but these are not as common as the ones I've mentioned!.

Question #2: There's a possibility!.

Question #3: You might be able to on your own!. I suggest you see your doctor and have the tinnitus and headaches evaluated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ringing can be caused by an imbalance or infection in your inner ear!. If you also have really bad headaches, there may be something going on neurologically that could be causing both problems you are having!. I would consider getting a CAT scan of your head if it gets bad enough!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's known as Tinnitus!. It's caused by exposure to loud noises, hearing loss or health problems (allergies, tumor, heart prob!. ect!.) If it dosen't seem to be going away then i would go see a doctor just to be on the safe side!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should see a doctor something really serious could be wrongWww@Answer-Health@Com
