Question: How can i tell if i have a heart murmur!? please help!?
i am joining the army and going to have myself examined by a doctor at selection,they say the most common medical deferral is a ''heart murmur'' im a bit worried that i may have one!.just wondering how can i tell without going to see my doctor if i can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Heart murmur is an audible event other than the regular heart sounds!. Loud murmurs can be picked up by anyone!. But a soft murmur requires a bit of training for detectionWww@Answer-Health@Com
A doctor can check heart sounds by listening with a stethoscope!. These sounds can be further tested with a chest X-ray, ECG and an Echocardiogram to find the exact cause of the murmur!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
hmmm you don't , you have made it up in your mind that you possibly do , this probably only came to light since joining the army i'm guessing, as since you have been told about the number of people getting deferred

I am afraid you can't!. Even if you had a stethoscope and listened to your heart, it takes a fair bit of training to be taught to actually pick out the murmur!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You can't tell!. You need a doctor to diagnose it!. Why on earth do you think you might have a heart murmur!?
