You should not worry about having diabetes!. You had a good reading, especially since it was after eating so many carbs!. Just eat a healthy diet and get daily exercise and don't worry about checking your blood sugar!. You'll become a hypochondriac and think you have everything that comes along!. That's how my aunt is!. If she hears some one has a real exotic disease or something, she swears she has symptoms of it and runs to the doctor!. She has spent lots of money on doctors and insurance, and some of the doctors actually gave her prescriptions for "placebos" just to shut her up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Who buys a blood sugar monitor just to check if they have diabetes!? Just eat well, exercise and don't get fat!. If you do that, your chances of getting diabetes is low (unless you get type I)!. There is no need to have a blood sugar monitor, if you are really worried, you doctor can test for it annually!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're thirsty all the time, you must not be drinking water to quench your thirst!.
Sugar filled drinks, and anything with caffeine will not hydrate you, only make you more thirsty!.
Try hydrating with water - and see if you are still thirsty all the time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's good that you are monitoring your blood sugar!.Stay away from sugary drinks and watch your diet!. Eat the following foods, rice, bread, potatoes, pasta, pizza in moderate amounts!.Dont forget to exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is summer now, the weather is hot!. That's the reason of your thirst!.

Sound like you got good control keep up the great job and don't worry unless it go's above 130 or below 60Www@Answer-Health@Com

I tend to agree, your thirst is due to other reasons!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here's the lowdown on blood glucose (BG) readings!. The be a diabetic, you must have two separate fasting BG tests over 126!. A fasting test from 100-126 is pre-diabetes and non-diabetics score under 100!. These are fasting numbers meaning you haven't eaten anything of drank anything but water, black coffee or diet soda for at least 8 hours!.

According to the ADA (American Diabetes Association), a diabetic in control needs to keep their BG below 180 when testing about 2 hours after a meal (the normal time for the BG to peak)!. The AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) says this number needs to be below 140!.

Therefore, a 101 after pizza (white bread carb is high on the glycemic index) is a great score for a non-diabetic person!. You really do have nothing to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
