Question: Scars from stitches!?
i just got my stiches on my forehead out today!. the stiches were put in by a plastic surgeon!. there is slight scar that has already formed!. is it possible that my skin is still a bit swollen from the stitches!?if so how long will it take to fade!? i began using mederma today!. i have heard mixed reviews!. also, the scar is red compared to the rest of my skin!. my dr told me the scar will soften in about 6 weeks!. whatever that means!. anyone have any experiences!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
if stiches wefre done by plastic surgeon, you should be fine!. they are the best with facial stiches!. keep up with teh mederma, and keep it moisturized at all times! this will help reduce the appearance!.

BTW you can buy a walgreens brand of scar releif gel (its the same as mederma, but much cheaper!)

the scar will be kinda stiff and at first, but after time it will heal and flatten and fade from pink to white!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

He means the scar will lighten and hardly be noticeable!. I have found that slight facial scars seem to attract people of the opposite sex!. Somehow they convey character and realism to a person!. Go figure !?

Anyway, my scars have never seemed to pose a problem, of course I never aspired to be a celebrity actor or model!. Although makeup and concealer would cover them!. Actually, they make me look a bit tougher than I probably am!. LOLWww@Answer-Health@Com

The scar will fade once it's completely healed, and it will become white and pale!. Other then that, try some Bio-oil or some Cocoa cream to fade it away whilst it's healing!. I do have experience, there's a scar on the ridge of my nose and on my cheek near my cheekbone, and I've got a few stretch marks, which are being faded by a product called rescue oil, similar to Bio-oil, but cheaper!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it is a slight scar, I can tell you a great product that works for fading the look of scars!. It's called Bio-Oil!. You'll only have to apply a small amount since you said you was only a SMALL scar!. Just apply a little everyday until you can't see it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
