The most serious complication of appendicitis is rupture!. The appendix bursts or tears if appendicitis is not diagnosed quickly and goes untreated!. Infants, young children, and older adults are at highest risk!. A ruptured appendix can lead to peritonitis and abscess!. Peritonitis is a dangerous infection that happens when bacteria and other contents of the torn appendix leak into the abdomen!. In people with appendicitis, an abscess usually takes the form of a swollen mass filled with fluid and bacteria!. In a few patients, complications of appendicitis can lead to organ failure and death!.

Acute appendicitis is treated by surgery to remove the appendix!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It all depends on many things!. How bad the infection is, how long it has been this way!. Some people can have their appendix rupture in a few hours, some take much longer!. But you never want this to happen because it can be life threatening!. The result is called peritonitis and it is the infection spilling from your appendix into your body cavity and can cause death!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It really just depends on the individual case!. It can be immediate to a few days down the road!. It really just depends but in that regard if you are hurting than you will know it is getting worse!. It generally becomes unbearable with vomiting, sweating from pain etc!.!.!. If there is significant pain to be really bothersome it is already time to get it checked out and if it gets worse it could be trouble!. Just do not mess around with that because you do not really want to play with the thought of it rupturing!. That can cause extreme damage too!. Good Luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If appendicitis goes untreated, the inflamed appendix can burst 24 to 72 hours after the symptoms begin!.

No specific timming but commonly within 6-24 hours of onset of symptoms!. Sometimes appendicular rupture gets unnoticed as omentum seals ruptured appendics leading to localised peritonitis specially under antibiotic coverage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Regardless, I would recommend hospitalization ASAP!. :) I hope no one around you is having appendix troubles!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I watch a friend of mine and it was a matter of days!. Less than 4 days and spent 11 days in the hospital 6 of them in ICU!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
