Question: Are protruding eyes normal!?
I know sometimes it can be caused by hyperthyroidism, and other related problems, but can it also be simple genetics!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You can have shallow eye sockets which cause the eyes to protrude further from the head!. As a result, a blow to the head or even a violent sneeze can cause the eye to avulse (pop out)!. The muscles can't hold on to them as efficiently!. Yes, the eye(s) doesn't fall to the ground <<ewwww>>, because it is held by the optic nerve, but it does pop out of the socket nonetheless!.

Spontania!.!.!. Ironic that your avatar is a pomeranian!. I had a female pom who had shallow eye sockets!. She got head butted by another dog and her eye popped out as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a friend that has some kind of metabolism problem!. Her metabolism is so fast that she said if she doesn't get treated for it, it will cause her eyes to protrude and eventually fall out!.

At least, that's what I think she said!. My memory kinda sucks!. I'd recommend you speak with your doctor if you are worried about anything!. Maybe you have the same thing my friend does!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are correct!. The medical term for bulging or protruding eyeballs is exopthalmos, and it is often a sign of hyperthyroidism!. A simple blood test can tell if this is the problem!. See your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
