Question: I need to put my mom in detox!.!?
My mom has been drunk for 3 months straight!. she was doing really good!. I don't know what happened!. i live a couple blocks from her and as of right now she is by herself having a garage sale to try and save her house!. the problem with that is is sh is completely drunk by herself trying to have a garage sale!. she is probably going to get robbed i offered to go over there but when she is this far in the bag she threatens me and wants to fight!. so i will not go over there!. but later today me and my aunt (her sister) are going to try to but her in detox!. My question is what do i have to do to get her to go!. Can the police make her do it!? Because i know she wont go herself!. but she is in terrible shape and i think dying!. she hasn't eaten and she is naturally really tiny like 4'11 and 100 pounds!. but she is getting smaller and i know that a person of her size cant handle that much poison!. her face is sunken in and her eyes are yellow!. I want to know what i can do to help save her life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you feel that your mother is a danger to herself then you can go to court and file for a protective custody order!. If it is granted, the police will arrest her and force her into a treatment facility for evaluation after which there will be another hearing to determine if she needs to stay in treatment or can be released!.

Police might take her to the hospital!. THat's all!. They might not be able to do anything if she refuses!.
Try the Health and Human Services in your Town!. They might have pointers!. If she has been intoxcated for as you say 3 months straight, expect a crash, please make sure that the crash is at the hospital (for her own health and safety)!.

i agree totoally with the first answer i would try to keep a close eye on her if she becomes physically violent with anyone call the cops also if she passes out call the ambulence asap this could be fatal!. but u should call make the call today for the custody thing!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can go to the police station, and get a custody thing that will send her to rehab!.

I'm sorry that you are going through this ordeal with your mom!. My dad did the same thing to his self and he wouldn't go to detox!. It really depends on how far your mom is with this addiction!. My dad refused treatment, was acting erratically and just plain didn't care!. In addition to not eating, my father was sick!. My father went to the doctor with the same symptoms that your mom has and he was diagnosed with liver/pancreatic cancer!. Take your mom to the emergency room some how and get her checked out!
