OK let me straighten this question out..my husband?!

Question: OK let me straighten this question out!.!.my husband!?
My husband just did a health screening this morning at his work!.!.!. I am assuming for his insurance!. They said that his BP was at 141/102 and his Fasting Glucose was at 134!. What do these mean!. I know they said that he needs to be checked for both with a DR!. I just want to know if it sounds like diabetes!? And High BP!? OK they told him that he is boarderline diabetic but I read that this is not an actual diagnosis!. You either are or you are not!. Is this true!? I am really confused on the glucose levels because so many websites say so many different levels are normal!. The website that I read this on said that normally if they say you are a boarderline diabetic then you probably are diabetic!?
No he fasted overnight did not eat anything since 9 pm last night and no breakfast!.!.!. then tested at work at the screeningWww@Answer-Health@Com

Here are the norms my doctor gave me:

Non-Diabetic:
Fasting - 70-100
After Meals (2 hours) - 110-125
Random (taken at any time) - under 180

Pre-dibetic:
Fasting - 100-125
After Meals - 125-150
Random - under 200

Diabetic:
Fasting - 126+
After Meals - 150+
Random - 200+

These also seem to be a happy medium between most of the things I have read!. A fasting blood sugar of 134 is definitely within the diabetic ranges, and average blood pressure should be around 120/80!. It seems he has slightly elevated blood pressure, and should definitely go see his doctor!. He'll run some blood tests and is the only one really able to tell you for sure whether you should be concerned!. Good luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best place to find more information regarding this would be to read Dr!. Atkins Diet books!. Type 2 diabetes starts by blood sugar being out of wack long before it is considered diabetes, they now call this conditon pre-diabetes!. The diabetic diet (what a diabetic person should be eating) very closely follows the Atkins Diet!.

Diabetes causes protein fibers to stick together and bond together, muscles are not as elastic!. Alot of diabetice have high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, cholesterol that is out of wack, and diabetes causes probelms with blood vessels!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Visit my blog site and print off the Blood Glucose Level Chart!. The Chart relates HbA1C and daily finger prick test results!. Study the chart to know where you husband is!.

The reality with better diet and daily exercise he may return to normal test results!. But, he will have keep it up for the rest of his life!. Hmmmmmmm, better eating, exercise, positive attitude on life!. Not a bad life style!.

It would be good to get a complete physical with blood work for a health baseline!.

Best Wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is considered high blood pressure and high blood sugar!.
MY friend was "borderline" for along time and now has damage to her eyes as the current Dr said the other Dr should not have let her go so long without treatment for the sugar level!. Nancy StullWww@Answer-Health@Com

ok, the bottom number on his bp is high!.!. normal range is like 60-80 {i think}

i just conferred with my mom, whos diabetic, and she said that134 woudl be in teh diabetic range

and either way, he definately needs to go to the family pc and get it checked out!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no hes not diabetic those are just slightly elevated numbers
the reason is his liver released glucose because his body didn't have any (yes that disgusting flabby thing stores sugar) his body didn't have it from fasting that's why hes elevated not because of him having diabetes

blood pressure i don't know anything about

sorry!Www@Answer-Health@Com

He is a diabetic NOT a pre diabetic but a true type 2!. Have a AC1 test done (blood test) to look at his historic levels!. Anyone saying he is not is incorrect!. The Dept of Health has lowered the number to 109Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like high blood pressure is a fact, and diabeties is something that builds over a period of time!. With diet and exercise he can keep the sugar under control but should be checked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
