Is my pain related to my TB skin test?!

Question: Is my pain related to my TB skin test!?
I had a TB skin test today!. After about an hour I began having pain in same-side forearm, wrist and hand!. At first, it was not constant and was more like a stab near my thumb joint at the wrist and palm!. Now it is extending more thoughout my palm and further up my forearm and is less of a stabbing and more like deep muscle tenderness!. The test site itself seems fine!. However, the line of pain runs like this: imagine a straight line drawn from the test site to the middle finger!. The pain begins about 7 cm from the injection site and continues down the forearm, through the wrist and into the thumb joint and flat palm area but does not involve the middle knuckle!.

I've had many TB tests because I work in health care!. My area of expertise is not related to this and I admit I have no knowledge about this!. Even though I cannot imagine these symptoms being anything but coincidence, I am a bit concerned!.

Any nurses, doctors or pathologists (etc) in here who can shed light!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hello, I am not one of the specialists you mentioned but I am a medical assistant and work in an occupational health office of a hospital!. Our office gives PPD skin tests all the time!. I am the one who reads the results and charts, etc!. I have never heard of anyone who has gotten sick or had any adverse reaction to a PPD shot!. The only discomfort that is sometimes occurs is some redness/itching at the injection site!. This usually is related to a positive test!. If your site is normal and seems to have no reaction then I cannot fathom how your symptoms can be related to the PPD test!. However when you go back to the practitioner who planted the PPD for the read in 48-72 hrs, I would just mention your concern just to ease your mind!. Well hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if it doesnt get too intense or uncomfortable,
i'd just wait for the follow-up where they check the
injection site!. you do have a follow-up for it
within the next day or two right!.!.!.!?
the doctor or nurse who checks it should be able
to figure it out!. otherwise if it gets really bad,
go to urgent care or the er,
and maybe if your appt isnt til friday,
i'd call the drs office tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
