Questions about blood sugars?!

Question: Questions about blood sugars!?
1) Is a fasting blood sugar
a) how much it is when you first wake up!?
b) how much it is before you first eat!?
for me those are two different numbers and both are fasting!.!.

2) My fasting blood sugar before I first ate was 97 - but I sometimes have to get up at night and get some water/go to the bathroom - is there reason for any concern!?

3) some people say a raw food diet can help with stabilizing blood sugar levels!. I try to eat a lot of raw fruits/vegetables/nuts etc but I can't totally subsist on that right now so I have some rice, beans, bread, soy or rice milk, and occasional soy products (I follow a vegan diet)
is there anything that backs up the raw diet about this - what is the truth about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Assuming you are diabetic!.!.!.

1) Is a fasting blood sugar
a) should be between 80-110 (70-100 for non-diabetics)
b) same as above, that's what fasting is, before you eat

2) No, most people have to pee once in the middle of the night!.

3) What controls your blood glucose is controlling your carbs and giving yourself insulin if necessary to cover them!. Raw foods are good for you and should be incorporated into your diet, but they don't help with blood glucose control!. The body treats all carbs pretty much the same, whether it's fruit sugars, milk sugars, complex carbs, or simple sugars!. The total carb is what's important, and your doc should have given you a target number of carbs for each meal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
