Am I Hypothyroid?!
Question: Am I Hypothyroid!?
Dad's mom is hypo and dad is hypo; in fact he was misdiagnosed due to another condition and when they discovered it was hypothyroid the dr!. said he was so underactive he was days away from being comatose!.
I had my levels checked 5 yrs ago, but no issues (i didn't see the results so i don't know if my levels were perfect or slightly askew)
I've always been overweight, but lately gained a lot (5'5" 230 lbs, gained 30 lbs since jan) i'm also always colder than everyone around me(sleep in jogging suit even in summer), i have thin hair, i have anxiety, bouts of depression or feeling 'blue', although i'm on the pill i find my periods have gotten heavier, i also can sleep all the time, sometimes i fall alseep at 6pm and sleep through the night and wake up tired and sluggish, and i have constant aching in arms and legs should be tested again!? i don't want to be one of these people that uses excuses for being fat but i seem to have all the symptoms and it does run in the family!. help pleaseWww@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely sounds that you are having most symptoms get another blood test!. My mother was misdiagnosed six times with hyperthyroidism! It happens, do NOT hesitate going to an endocrynologist until you believe you are being heard!. If necessary, you may have to change endocrynologist, my mom had to change like I said, six times!. It was so awful for her!. I have hypothyroidism and a cousin and aunt on my moms side is, also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
