Answers:
There are two main types of blood cells!. The red ones carry oxygen around the body!. The white ones attack foreign objects, including bacteria and your own dead skin and dried blood in a wound!. The blood cells are carried around in a thin clear liquid called plasma!.
What you have on your surgery wound is some plasma with some white blood cells in it!. These will destroy any bacteria (microbes) if they try to enter the wound!. They will also break up any dead cells at the edges of the wound!.
You will get this in any part where you have surgery!. You will also get it in cuts, scrapes and scratches!. They form part of the material in scabs on small injuries!.
In cases of very bad infection, the body needs to produce so many (billions) of these white cells, that the person can get sick from the effort!. The cells, mixed with the bacteria, are called pus!. Pus is not white, but usually yellowish or greenish, and smells very bad!. After an operation the doctors will test your blood to count the white cells, so they can tell if you have an infection that needs treatment!.

I hope you get well soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nasal and sinus mucus membranes are composed of ciliated pseudostratified glandular columnar epithelium which contain mucus secreting Goblet cells!.
Cilia beat in unison to propel mucus from the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses toward the nasopharynx where it can be swallowed without even noticing!. Mucociliary transport relies on mucus production and ciliary functon!.

Mucus helps in immune defense & air filtration!.The thickened superficial layer of nasal mucus serves to trap bacteria and particulate matter in a substance rich with immune cells, antibodies, and antibacterial proteins!.

After sinus surgery you need some home care, medicine and regular visits to surgeon for cleaning of nose & sinuses so that excess & accumulated mucus/crust/clot do not become a source of infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
