Question: How serious ia AIDS we don;t seem to here much anymore!?
Its was a serious issue some years ago , and the problem has'nt gone away , there s still no cure so what is happening !?

It is estimated that over 30 million people are living with HIV/AIDS worldwide and that more than 25 million have died leaving nearly 12 million AIDS orphans in Africa alone!. Every year another 2!.5 million people are infected and over 2 million die!. Africa is just the start of the pandemic, India, China and Russia are all seeing their numbers explode!. Plus numbers are rising again in North America!.

The total cost in dollars is unknown but in 2006 there was nearly 19 billion earmarked by the US government for all things AIDS related (prevention, testing, education, international aid, treatment)!. That is JUST the US!. Considering most people infected live in Africa!.!.!.!. well you figure the cost!. Try to remember that is the government cost for one country!.!.!.!. the individual cost in time, pharmaceuticals, hospitals care!.!.!.!.completely unknown!.

AIDS is still serious, but with improvements in treatment, people who have HIV (the virus that can lead to AIDS) are living longer, healthier than they could before!. Treatment can increase the amount of time between diagnosis of HIV and diagnosis of AIDS!.
There is still no cure!.
HIV and AIDS are still a major problem in Africa, where for some reason, it is believed that if an infected person has sex with a virgin, the infected person will be cured!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, it is pretty serious!. However, with new medication, they are controlling the disease very well!. It does not mean they eliminate it completely!. Always use protection and stay well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
