It sounds like you're doing all you can!. The Tylenol/Motrin regimen is pretty effective, and I agree that you should not do an ice bath!. Infections often can only survive over a very tight range of body temperature, a fever is one of the body's methods of killing off an invader!.

If you cannot get a pediatrician appointment within the next few hours, you may want to consider taking your son to the Emergency Room!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just incase you didn't know, never do cold or ice baths, they can cause the child to go into shock!. Fever is usually a sign of infection and is actually good because it shown the bodys ability to fight infection!. I would suggest if you have done the tylenol/motrin thing and he is able to keep down liquids, and you stated thet he isn't bothered by the fever to just let him decide (for the most part, of course) what is best for him!. Kids aren't going to do something that makes them feel bad!. Seems like you've got it under control and are doing everything you can!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, make sure you are giving appropriate doses of both meds - he should be dosed by his weight only - not his age!. You have been doing appropriate fever control up to this point!. Often, children can run fevers from mild viruses which cause no problems since he has no other symptoms!. Dress him in light clothes, continue the fever medications, offer extra fluids!. Do not do the cold baths - sitting in a tub of tepid water and letting the water evaporate off his skin is more appropriate!. I would not be alarmed at a 102!.7 fever without other symptoms - this is the body's way of killing off germs that occur and most of these germs are viral in nature which means no antibiotic is needed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
