Can you resuscitate someone who has had a heart attack?!
Question: Can you resuscitate someone who has had a heart attack!?
Answers:
Yes you can!. CPR is a valuable tool in saving lives!. You must do both compressions and rescue breathing!. This is to maintain oxygen enriched blood profusing the body and the vital organs!. It is true that after approx!. 10-15 without oxygen brain damage begins, but this can range from mild to severe!. Profusing the brain with oxygen through CPR is very important!. It is essential that the person be taken to an ER immediately so that advanced cardiac life support or ACLS interventions can be performed!. This may include defibrillation (shocking the heart) if the heart is not profusing the body or "fluttering!." This is known as V-Fib and needs to be treated right away with defibrillation and medication!. Keep in mind that not all patients are able to be resuscitated, sometimes there is to much damage to the heart, or the patient has been down to long and the heart cannot be restarted or shocked into a profusing rhythm!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If humanly possible and, you have the knowledge, you should make an attempt!.
Once the heart has stopped for a period of about three to four minutes, damage has already started from lack of blood/oxygen to the brain!.
It's now assumed to keep the pattern of chest compressions going and, forget bout the breathing, the patient isn't or, doesn't have a heart beat anyway so, the breathing isn't necessary!.
It's better to keep the heart going with compressions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
