Tuberculosis question...please help?!

Question: Tuberculosis question!.!.!.please help!?
I have just recently found out that I've been talking to a kid who has tuberculosis, and he didn't know it himself for a while!. I have had post nasal drip years before I met him, and I don't cough up bloody mucus or any of that!. I've known him for about a year and a half, is it possible I could have TB!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most people who are exposed to TB contract the inactive form of the disease!. The TB bacteria may become active if a person's immune system becomes weak as in a person with HIV or the elderly!.

TB in it's active form is contagious but to actually contract it you must constantly be close to the person who has it by either living with or working with that person!.

TB stays inactive once it enters the body and only 10% of people infected with the disease will ever have the active form!. Meanwhile, 90% of infected people who contract TB will show no signs of infection and will not spread the disease!.

So unless you've had any constant contact with this person by living or working with him, I'd say you're safe (provided that you're healthy)!. If you're still concerned, consult your primary care physician!. The source below should help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
