Question: Can an allergic reaction be triggered solely by the aroma of cooked fish!?
A guy on the bus was eating fried fish yesterday!.
A woman claimed to be having an allergic reaction!. These two people were at opposite ends if the bus!. The bus had to stop and an ambulance was called!.There was talk of a law suit [surprise!]
In my uninformed opinion,it seemed that this woman was faking,hoping to sue the bus company,since the driver did not ask the fish-eater to cease!.
Is this sort of allergic reaction a real possibility!?

Sounds like she is full of crap!. As far as I know because my husband is allergic to seafood it has to be ingested but, if he has a cut on his hand and handles a fish his hand will swell, if he happens to rub his eye his eye will swell!. Ingesting it is another story terrible cramps in the stomach, throat and tongue swell and he can't breath!. That's emergency room time!. He can eat other seafood like lobster, shrimp, clams, not crab or even frog legs I believe these last two eat fish!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yes, some people have allergic reactions that bad that even the smell or a slight touch of it can cause reactions!. A friend of mine at work, her son has a really bad allergic reaction to any kind of nut!. They can't even go to Logan's Roadhouse because of the peanut shells on the floor!. They went there once and they had to take the son out of the restaurant because he was starting to go into shock from the peanut shells on the floor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Most fish is oily (some more than others) the oil gets in the air after it is cookedand depending on how severe her allergy is, she could have been having a reaction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
