I have a website for information on how to help your mom get her life back!. dlife!.com is a great site with tips for gaining control and the address below is an article on depression and diabetes!.

Hope you can get some help from this article and share the site with your mom, she may just find that she can have tasty foods and still keep her blood sugars under control!. Just go to the home page of dlife and you can cruise around the site for more information and recipes too!.

If a person who is diabetic can keep good control of their sugars they can live a full and productive life!. Unfortunately we can't say how long, only God knows this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey there, im very sorry to hear that your mother has diabetes!. Shes depressed!? Well I think i might know why, it's because she can`t do the things she used to do, or eat the things she used to eat, but instead she probably has to take extra precautions in what shes doing!. She will be okay if she continues to do her daily treatments, and watches what she eats, and hope to accept having diabetes!.!. And once you get diabetes your stuck with it, because once your pancreas shut down theres no bringing it back!.

I hope all goes well for your mother, and hope she looks up, and stays strong!.

I know what you mean, i feel the same way with you as my parents but both of them have hepatitis, i can somewhat feel your pain, but try not to worry, and make the best of your life, and spend it with your mother having fun!.

Most people with diabetes can live a full productive life if they take care of themselves!. Get regular check ups and change their diet to limit the effects of the disease!. Of course if you lived a wild lifestyle before you were diagnosed you may have to make some changes!. Alcohol and sweets are out and maybe other foods depending on the extent of her disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately we don't get our fun lifestyle back!. And I understand the depression - I have to take Effexor for mine, helps me face the day!. I am not on insulin, so I'm not sure if my suggestion will work, but talk to the doctor!. I have a bad weight problem and at my age (61) it is hard to lose it!. My doctor put me on Byetta!. It is for controlling diabetes as well as cholesterol!. Since the first of the year I've lost 55 pounds and have lots of energy I hadn't seen for a long time!. If the Byetta is something your mom can take it might pull her out of the dumps!. Good luck!. And by the way - she is very lucky to have you to watch her!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depression and diabetes go hand in hand sometimes!. My doctor tried to put me on antidepressants, but they make me meaner than a snake, nearly caused a 40 yr marriage to go down the tubes!! I would much rather be depressed than forfeit that!.

We all have to change our lifestyles no matter what as we get older!. And turning Golden is no picnic!!

She should live to be an old old lady if she takes proper care of the diabetes and heart problems that will crop up!.

I had a "cheat treat" yesterday for lunch that should be forbidden entirely from the human experience!! A big fluffy Cinnamon Roll with caramel and pecans! Yeah!! I am paying for it today still, but it does so much to aleviate the depressions!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

She'll be ok!. It takes some adjusting to the new life changes!. It's frustrating!. She'll need your support but she doesn't need food police :) Let the nutritionist and her work on what she should and shouldn't eat!. You'll both be surprised what she'll be able to do and have once she gets a good insulin regimen!. She'll have ups and downs!. Feel more tired than usual at times!. But stick with it and you'll both be just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

uhh no one really knows!.
But my grandpa has lived 20+ years with diabetes and he's just fine, except for minor heart attacks!. But that's expected of an old man!. so yeah
No one can ever really tell for you!.
but best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depression is one of the worse "side effects" of diabetes!. Your mom needs to speak with her doctor about her depression at her next visit!. When your entire world depends on what that litttle drop of blood says on the meter, it can either make or break your day and mood!. It is very difficult to look at your life and know that No it will never be the same again!.!.but that is not necessarily a bad thing, if you can change your thoughts from the negative to the "its healthier" and I can live longer by doing this and that!. Its not easy, but with a great support team behind her she can do it! Just be there for your mom and help her in any way you can!Www@Answer-Health@Com
