Answers:
Question #1: A "general" blood test would be a blood chemistry/metabolic panel and this doesn't test for something as specific as hepatitis!.

Question #2: It would depend on the test ordered!. If a liver panel was included in the order, it might show elevated liver enzymes but this still isn't a test for hepatitis!. It's a test to evaluate liver function!.

Question #3: Please use the link below and go to other websites to learn about all the different hepatitis types!.

Your doctor may have done a test that showed results called a liver panel!. If the Alt, AST/SGOT were elevated, it could mean some kind of problem with the liver!. These tests show liver enzymes and let the doctor know some things about your liver function!. If they are elevated, he will probably do other testing like Anti-HBc, Anti-HCV that can tell him if you may have Hep B or Hep C!. Testing can be very accurate within a few weeks of contracting the disease, although you should be tested again in a few months!. People that have Hep C may not have any symptoms of the disease at all, even after having for 30 years or more!. After that many years the only symptom many have are fatigue!. In the beginning, Hep C (a few weeks after being infected) may have mild symptoms of the flu!. Most people disregard this!. It is possible for the disease to be the acute strain, where it actually clears up on its own in a few months!. However, 85% of Hep C cases are the chronic type where you have it forever, there is no cure!. Many people do not need treatment for their Hep C, and can live a normal life!. It is not actually the Hepatitis that can be the killer, it is the damage that your liver receives when you drink or do drugs!. Having Hep C makes it very hard for your liver to rid the body of toxins because it is inflammed!. If your doctor suspects Hep, he will do more testing and tell you the results!. Talk to him if you have questions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there is a specific test for it!.!.!.a routine liver function would not find it!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
