Weird Reaction to a Wasp Sting?!

Question: Weird Reaction to a Wasp Sting!?
I got stung by a wasp/hornet yesterday on my calf!. I put ice on it and the swelling went down and then it was fine!. This morning I woke up and the skin on the back of my leg from three inches below my knee down to about an inch and a half above my ankle is really hard and taut and the best way to describe it is slightly swollen, but its not like any swelling Ive had before!. It difficult to straighten my leg because it feels like there isn't enough skin and that it stretches my skin if I try!. Its slightly itchy but hurts to scratch it!. Ive been stung twice before but its been years, and the most Ive reacted to it is an itchy feeling in the area for a week or so!. Ive never been tested for allergies because I havent had any in the past!. Its been about 36 hours now, and Im going to see how it is tomorrow!. Ive tried a hot compress, ice pack, two different types of topical gel, and I took benedryl to no avail!. Is this normal and should I wait it out or go see a doctor!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Doesn't sound normal to me - but then, I'm not a doctor, I'm a mom! My 16 year old son was stung by a wasp a few weeks ago - just above his ankle, two bites about two inches apart, one above the other!. It swelled right away, it hurt his whole leg to put weight on it - and frankly we got a bit scared because it was getting really swollen, so took him to emerg!. The dr!. said it was ok, said it was enough to take one dose of Benadryl, and it would receed by the next day!. This had happened after 9 in the evening!. By the next morning, it was reddish and a bit swollen, but his leg didn't hurt any more, and then it just got better!. The dr!. had said the only thing to really watch for was to come back if there was a red line radiating out from the bites - which would mean infection or blood poisoning, I would think!.
So yours I think deserves a look at from a dr!. It's been a long time!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
