Pernicious Anaemia?!

Question: Pernicious Anaemia!?
I am currently undergoing test to confirm I have P!.A (B12 deficient anaemia) & I wondered if anyone on here suffers from this or has come across this in the past!?

If it is confirmed as P!.A I know I will have to have B12 injections (hate needles) & also know I will never be "better" just managing it!.

Just wondered if anyone has any advice for how to live with P!.A!?

Thanks in advance

My god i can sympathise! I've just been really poorly with anaemia, down to 6!.9!! I was tested for B12 deficiency too but thankfully it isn't that but my doc did say that if it was not to worry as all I'd need was 4 B12 jabs a year for the rest of my life and that was it problem solved and i'd feel a whole lot better!. All i can say is try not to worry, take your iron tabs try and eat properly and listen to your body and take care of yourself!. Anaemia needs to be taken seriously so please take care of yourself and i hope you feel a lot better soonWww@Answer-Health@Com

My wife has had pernicious anemia for about 15 years and has a tiny injection of B12 every 3 months or so!.

She is absolutely fine now though before it was diagnosed she was having memory/confusion/balance/fatigue problems!. The injections work just fine and other than that there nothing she needs or has to do to control it!.

And all of the symptoms have gone away, though we know when her next injection is due because she starts to get "clumsy"!.

The most notable benefit is that she no longer feels tired all of the time!.

Don't worry the injections work fine and at one every 3-6 months it's little impositionWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hey, I am assuming you know this is an autoimmune problem with antibodies against intrinsic factor!. Then, you cant absorb B12 orally!. There is a new sublingual B12 now, so you may not need the injections!.!.yay! Sometimes people with B12 deficiency can have other autoimmune problems such as Lupus or Type1 diabetes mellitus!. It is easy to rule these other things out with blood tests!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My wife has it & she only has to have a b12 injection every 3 months!.
The PA does not affect her life in any way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
