When we have a patient that has elevated liver enzymes, which is an indication there is a problem with the liver, we usually test for many things, including Hep and HIV!. We tell them that we are testing for these diseases before it is done!. Most people do not have a problem with it!. If they have already been diagnosed with Hep C and have a back ground of drug use, yes, we test for HIVWww@Answer-Health@Com
Hep C and HIV are not related in any way, they are two totally different viruses!. That being said, if the person you know did needle based drugs they always run the risk of catching any blood born disease especially if they share needles or have unprotected sex!.

test for HIV after what!. The person should have been tested for everything!. If the physician found hepatitis C, other blood work should have been done!. Person needs to go to an infectious disease physician!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
