Only when it either grows large enough to shed hundreds of thousands of malignant cells into the blood stream or lymphatic system !. !.those hundreds of thousands of 'seeds' can than implant hundreds of the same type of tumor that will grow indefinitely!. Eventually the tumors will run out of space and grow into tissue, bone, soft tissue, invade the brain, lungs, liver !. !. at that point there is considerable pain!.
In general though cancer is not painful at all and can co-exist inside the body until it is advanced !. !. once advanced it begins to create all types of havoc, pain, and eventually death!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not initially!. Cancers often go undetected until they are quite large!.
It's the treatments (chemo, radiation) that can be painful!. As the treatments are killing the cancer cells, they also accidentally kill some normal cells and cause side effects which aren't fun!.
When the cancer is very advanced, it can get painful!.!.!.as the tumours strangle the regular ones and push organs out of the way!. But there are strong painkillers, including morphine that can help with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a breast tumor that was painful from nearly the beginning!. Because of this, and the pre-existence of other cysts, I concluded that it was also a cyst!. I was wrong!. No not always!. You can be stage 4 and not feel any pain!. I feel the chemo and the raditation is what was so painfull to my friend who just pased away!. She never said she was in any pain until after taking treatments!. But on the day she passed away, she still never said she was in pain!.

My mom's was!. she had stage 4 NSCLC with mets to her bones and lymph nodes!. the bone cancer was the most painful!. at the end, she was bed-ridden!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
