Low Iron? Causes and Effects?!


Question: Low Iron!? Causes and Effects!?
I just took a blood test a few days ago and I just got my report back and I found out that I have very low iron and I am anemic!. ( I am 14 years old by the way) I am really worried and scared!. How can I make my iron levels go up and I really want to be healthy!. The doctor has prescribed me iron pills, but whats a healthy diet!? My mom has anemia too, and I turned out to be worser than her :(

Women need more iron than men because they lose alot of blood in there period!. I know steak has alot of iron!.

These were a health website and high sources of iron
Eggs
Cereals, breads, or pastas that are fortified with iron
Beans and nuts, including peanut butter, almonds, peas, lentils, and white, red, and baked beans
Dried fruits (for example, raisins, apricots, and peaches), prune juice
Vegetables such as spinach and other dark green, leafy vegetables
Iron-fortified infant formula and cereals

Spinach and broccoli help, BUT start up with the pills to get your Iron level back to normal!. It sounds like it's hereditary, and not just due to your diet!. By that it doesn't mean you can't control it, it just means you're predisposed to having low Iron!. It's better to have low levels of Iron than high, but within normal boundaries!. There are 2 types of anemia, one of which is harder to get rid of!. I'm not a doctor and I don't remember what the names are!. Ask your doctor about it!. And don't worry, it's not life threatening!. YOUR PERIOD, IF YOU HAVE A HEAVY FLOW, BIG TIME CAUSE; I HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED BECAUSE OF HEAVY BLOOD LOSE TO THE POINT OF A TRANSFUSION; THEY DID A ABLATION, NOW I DON'T HAVE THE PROBLEM ANYMORE!., AND TAKE YOU IRON PILLS, AS PRESCRIBED, DON'T SKIP!. EAT A LOT OF GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES, ROMANE LETTUCE, SPINACH, ETC!. DRINK ORANGE JUICE WITH YOUR IRON PILL, THE OJ MAINTAINS THE IRON IN YOUR BLOOD LONGER!. DON'T BE WORRIED OR AFRAID, IT ISN'T VERY SERIOUSLY!. JUST EAT RIGHT, TAKE YOUR PILL, GET REST AND KEEP UP WITH THE DOCTOR TO MAKE SURE IT'S GOING UP!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm the same way, except I'm an extreme case!.!. I have anemia (I've had it for well over 10 years)!. But a few weeks ago I just found out I'm missing half of my blood!.!. an average hemoglobin is 13-14 and mine is 7!. Meaning yeah I'm missing half of my blood!.!. yikes!. Talk about scary!. My mom is anemic too!.!. but I'm waaaay worse!. You just need to listen to your doctor, take the iron however he said to take it!. I have to take it in liquid form (which is SO disgusting) because it upsets my tummy!. So watch out for that!.

Eat more protein!. I'm pseudo-vegetarian, so I eat a lot of fish, which has iron!.

Take a vitamin C capsule each day!. Vitamin C helps the blood absorb a larger percentage of the iron in your food!.

i ahve the same thing!. Eat iron enriched foods!. Start reading the food lables at the grocery store!.
Nothing to be scared over, it won't effect your everyday things!. You tend to bruise more easily, and may be a bit more tired than usal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

eat red meet every once in a while and I wouldn't take iron pills unless you really felt you were lacking something!. but i'd also listen to my doctor instead of a buch of strangers on yahooo lolWww@Answer-Health@Com

the best thingto do is to eat plantain because it is the natural source of iron for the bodyWww@Answer-Health@Com
