Cause of Ulcer on Right Tonsil!
Question: Cause of Ulcer on Right Tonsil
I am a 26 year old female, with no prior history of tonsilitis!. I have had the feeling like there was a cut or sore on the back of my throat on the right side, and beneath my tongue on the right side!. It lasted about 6 months, but was never more than a little annoying!.
The night before last, It started to hurt so much that I couldn't sleep!. I got up and and called the Dr!. they got me right in, and said that there was an Ulceration there near my right tonsil!. I was running a low grade fever, but everything else was fine!.
They ran a strep test (came back negative) and then ordered blood tests!. They ran a CBC, THS (to check thyroid), and a test for mono!. All came back negative!.
The are sending me to an Otolaryngologist, today!. But I am feeling worried!. The Dr!. seems very concerned and is in a hurry to find out what is wrong!. She is not the type to panic or overreact, so it is making me anxious!.
I am just killing time, here waiting to go to the Dr!. and wondered if anyone else might have experienced anything like this before!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't actually help you in such, BUT i felt i should reassure you that ulcers are the result of a surplus in acidity in the mouth - the wound is then a bit like cut flesh and sensitive therefore, in the same way a cut on your finger hurts when in cointact with lemon juice!.
Also, in general, there are many people who are affected with tonsilitus and have their tonsils removed painlessly and effortlessly in a short, easy operation!. So should you have a problem with yours, you can always have them surgically removed (your insurance covers the fees) and will never have them bother you again!.
