The donor site- usually the hip or leg, is only a very thin layer removed with this thing that looks like a cheese shaver!. Super thin!. Area is left looking like a sunburned area of skin!. It heals up and returns to normal!. No cutting down to the muscle required:) Feels like a sunburn I've been told!. They then put the donated skin through a mesher contraption so that it spreads out to cover more area!. So you can take a little piece of skin and use it to cover a larger area!. Hope this helps!.
