Ear tubes and Adenoids!
Question: Ear tubes and Adenoids
My son, who is 8 months old, needs to have tubs put in his ears and have his adenoids removed!. Has anyone else's child ever had this done when they were under a year old!? I'm really nervous and scared for him, I am just wondering what your experiences were with these types of surgeries!. Thanks in advance, and also, I am only asking about babies experiences, not adult or child!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is perfectly safe to have the tubs put in, even at 8 months!. We had to wait until my some was 2 & 1/2 before we put our foot down and said no more antibiotics!. The worst part of it all was not being able to give him his sippy cup that morning until he went in for surgery!. They let me carry him back and lay him on the table while they put the mask on his face!. When he went to sleep I lost it and cried like a baby!.
Adenoids!? He still has his!. Has had to struggle with Strep Throat every now and then and I still believe if they had nipped that in the bud along with the tubs he would not have!.
However he is a healthy 15 year old now and better for it!. He had to go to Speech Therapy for a year to get his Artic's straightened out!. Now he is in High School and a straight A student! But at 8 months yours will not have a problem at all!.
One thing he has also dealt with is ear infections!. We are careful when he swims a lot and he tries to never swim in anything other than treated water!. No lakes or streams!.
Your child will be fine and will weather through it much better than you will!.
Oh, by the way!. I still have one of the tubes that fell out one day two years after surgery in his baby book!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
