You didnt mention if you were sent for some test in order to properly diagnose your condition!.
One for sure, if you have complain like that, you have to go for Chest Xray so that the doctor can see if the lungs are clear!. I believe that your doctor check your lung with a sthethoscope to listen to your breath sounds since there are different breath sounds and there are normal and abnormal breath sounds!.
Using inhaler and depending on what type is not the answer!. Also, check if your inhaler is with cortisone because if yes, you are suppressing your own body's function and later you will get more ill!.
