My dads heart is not doing good. i got question!

Question: My dads heart is not doing good!. i got question
hi all
i will try to be short!.
my dad did all kinds of tests for his heart (including stress test) other day!.
His doc (oncologist) said his heart is not doing well and he mentioned one number to him (27)!.
my dad cant`t remember what does "27" stand for! anyone got idea!?

i met his cardiologist yesterday and hi said that my dad heart is not to bed but his oncologist keep saying he thinks my dad has heart failure!.

Also i found today that they wanted to repeat stress test because they could`t get enough info from first try!.
They canceled it because it would be too stressfull for my dad!.

Anyone know how i can find out real condition of my dead heart and what i need to ask docs when i see them again!!.
This is very important since my dad can not start his treatment for cancer until we know his heart condition!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Would you know it if you heard it!? Ejection fraction!? An ejection fraction of 27 would not be great!. "Normal" is between 60 and 75!. Just guessing there!.

I'd suggest maybe a meeting between oncologist and cardiologist with you and your father!? If the cardiologist is saying one thing, and the oncologist another, get them together in the same room and get some facts! Don't let them confuse you, or contradict each other!. Advocate for your father!

I'd also suggest writing things down as you listen, and shortly after!.!.!. it's a lot of terms and info to just remember off the top of your head!. Also, don't hesitate to ask his nurses what things mean!. That's what they are there for!.!.!. to help you understand!.

Questions I'd be inclined to ask:

What is the "27" number!? What does it mean!? What suggestions do they have for improvement!? Does he have heart failure!? What medications are being utilized to improve heart performance!? How much better would they want his heart to be before he starts CA treatment!? Why does a failing heart result in postponing treatment!? What would the oncologist want heart performance to be before he would be willing to start treatment!? What other tests can be utilized to help evaluate heart performance!? What therapy might help with heart performance!? What other treatments are available in addition to therapy or medications!?

Get that oncologist to stand there in front of that cardiologist and have make the heart failure statement then!

Good luck!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
