Will my roommate smoking out of the room be an issue?!

Question: Will my roommate smoking out of the room be an issue!?
Hello! Thank you for taking your time to answer my question!.

I'll be starting college as a freshman and have recently found out that my roommate is a smoker!. We've already established the fact that there will be no smoking in the room!.

Will the general smell from a smoker himself be irritating enough to warrant a room switch!? I myself am not a smoker and do not want that smell hanging over my head for an entire year!.

Please only answer if you have firsthand experience with this issue - speculative answers are not very helpful!.

Thanks in advance!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No doubt you'll smell the tobacco smoke on the person's breath!.

However, I would say if your roomate has no other really objectionable traits or behaviors, you might want to stay put - the alternative might be much worse (i!.e!. as far as smells go, a hint of tobacco might be a lot less objectionable to someone who has a major love of refried beans, if'n ya know what I mean!)!.

And to head off the purists who might try to suggest that you're getting "secondhand smoke" in her breath, I offer this: "the roomate is smoking tobacco, not plutonium!"Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes -- unless he's willing to leave his "smoking clothes" outside too!.

We're all stupid about something, but most of us don't show it plainly on our faces five minutes out of every thirty!. Makes you wonder how the heck this guy got into college!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

All answers are speculations!. There are many rituals and behaviors which come with the smoking territory!. However, you could be irritated with an obnoxious non-smoking roommate also, best to meet personally with her/him and find out if you are compatible, phone call, email , establish contactWww@Answer-Health@Com

If they go outside,I can't see what the problem would be!. Second hand smoke is way overblown by the media!. Smokers smoke first and second hand smoke for 40years and don't die!. But the more you can avoid it,the better in general because of all the other toxins in the air!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

doubtful!. unless they are a heavy smoker who smokes indoors instead of outdoors!. you may or may not smell smoke on your roommate or his/her clothing!. your worries are media based and inflated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Me, being a former smoker, would be bothered by it!. Probably not enough to warrant a switch of roomsWww@Answer-Health@Com
