Answers:
If you found out your results through an ABG, then yes they are related!. A normal CO2 level is 35-45!. CO2 is a cerebral vasodilator and when CO2 is lower than normal it is a vasoconstrictor!. So with less blood flow to the brain, a person can feel dizzy and may faint!. Decreased CO2 levels are usually a result of increased respiratory rate!. For patients who have a brain bleed and are on the ventilator, we increase the respiratory rate to cause cerebral vasoconstriction!. This decreases the amount of blood going through the brain, therefore decreasing the bleed!. This helps to relieve some pressure on the brain, because there is not as much blood build up!. I know that the brain bleed has nothing to do with you!. It is just an interesting fact to show how CO2 can play an important role!.

What did the Dr!. say casued your decreased CO2!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The major caveat concerning total CO2 content involves the interpretation of an isolated measurement!. (I am assuming you are talking about the CO2 form an electrolyte panel) !.!.!.!. One cannot diagnose acid
