Scared to take Doxycycline?!
Question: Scared to take Doxycycline!?
I've had bad back acne for four years!. Yesterday I finally went to the dermatologist and she prescribed Doxycycline!.
I'm scared to take it though because i've heard it makes you sick, makes your teeth yellow, and if you stop taking it the acne comes back worse than before
anyone have any experience with it!?

I just finished up a 7 day course!. It made me really sick (puking) if I took it and didn't eat anything before hand!. I mean a FULL MEAL, not just a granola bar!. However, as long as I ate, I was fine!.
I didn't take it for acne, I took it for an infection, so I don't know any side effects with acne!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would ask your doctor to prescribe you a different drug!. Although not uncommon, it is not one of the best drugs for acne!. I would much rather she prescribe you Minocycline which is another that kinda works the same way!. I don't know a single patient of mine on Doxycycline long term or for a period more than 14-20 days!. It tends to yellow your skin or eyes but not your teeth that I know of!. Never heard of a case of the acne coming back worse!. Acne is created by oils in your skin, not the drug!. Ask your doctor about Minocycline!. Hope this helps, stay healthy!.
