Acne... help please?!

Question: Acne!.!.!. help please!?
I used to have bad acne when I was 14, and now I'm turning 18 and it's still kind of there but not bad!. My face is always oily and it gets really dry when I wash it!. And occasionally I break out and my cheeks are always red and my pores look big!. Does anyone know of a good product to use for my skin type!? I can't afford to see a dermatologist, but if I could I would!. I'm desperate!.!.!. I'm tired of having bad skin!. Also did anyone try Proactiv!? Does it work!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I don't think you should try Proactive, my skin type is just like yours and after a while I just built up a resistance to it!. What I do to get rid of my acne is take birth control (it lightens your periods, gives you bigger breast, and gets rid of most of your acne) then if you still have some acne left over(or a break out) use some Neutrogena Foam cleanser (but only in the shower that way it'll keep your skin from getting dry) then as often as you like use a deep cleanser(I suggest Noxzema Micro bead Cleanser it's cheap, smells good, and work really well) And using alchol on your enlarge pores shrinks them really fastWww@Answer-Health@Com

my dermatologist recommended cetaphil for me as it doesn't have all the additives etc
i think it works well, but i still want to wash my face when i get home

as for proactive, a few of my friends have used it!. they all agree it works but it's expensive!. also even though it works it dries out their faces!. so some of them use it but just not every day

i've included the cetaphil website so you can see what it looks like
i just use the oily face wash
i get it at my local pharmacy, it's fairly easy to find and resaonably priced

good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne!. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne!.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

P!.S!. I also know someone who used to suffer from severe acne for 14 YEARS and finally got rid of it completely!. She's sharing her story at her site:

I usually have to switch between acne stuff!. Out of everything I have tried my favourite is Spectro Jel!. Baking soda also!.!.!. It dries out the zits, exfoliates, and degreasifies! Wet your face, put some plain dry baking soda in your hands and wash away!. I love it!. Of course I've heard Proactiv is great, but I'm too poor to buy it and my skin isn't awful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

For proactive the result usually varies from person to person!. Try this simple remedy!. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water!. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the pimples like soap!. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean!. i HIGHLY recomend Mary Kay's Velocity!. its works wonders! it really cleans your pores real good!. and the cost is some where around 15-20 dollars!.
Proactiv!?!?!?!?
no! its too strong for anyones skin!. it burns and it doen't even clean that well!.

oh and if you dont have a Mary Kay consultant go to target and get some clean and clear oxygenanating fizzing cleanser instead!.

but again on Proactiv!. No! its a waste of 100 bucks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

haha my 18yr old cousin uses proactiv and she says they make the zits go away, except for a few and takes a little time, also to prevent this you should wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo and your face with soap and apply some lotion on afterwards!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Toners are great for lifting away oils and tightening pores!. I had similar acne problems and i highly recommend Thayers Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel toners!.(very inexpensive natural toners)!. Also look for gentle soaps(or other skincare products) with sulfur!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Proactiv is great
but i'd suggest only buying a small amount and seeing if it works for you before spending a lot of money on it
i hope that helps
