What are the benefits of using an insulin pump rather than insulin shots?!

Question: What are the benefits of using an insulin pump rather than insulin shots!?
My mom has had diabetes for 21 years and she had always used insulin shots!. She and I had a doctor's appointment on the same day and since we have the same doctor, we had the same appointment!. Well, the doctor asked her if she has ever considered an insulin pump because her sugars have been all over the board recently!. It's becoming unmanageable at times!. Well, how would an insulin pump fix that!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I love my pump!. I have much better control than I did with injections!. Anytime I need insulin it is right here with me no matter where I am!. No having to run back home because I forgot to bring it along!. Whenever I need insulin I just have to push a couple of buttons rather than use a needle I only see a needle every few days when I have to change my insertion site!. The pump system is much more like how a pancreas works giving you tiny amounts of insulin through the day and night then you take insulin every time you have something to eat!. It requires more testing but well worth it!. Best decision I ever made was getting my pump!. Hope this Helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had diabetes for quite a while now and have the pump!. I feel that there are positives and negatives about using the pump, but I do enjoy it for the most part!. I find it much easier to correct your blood sugar when you are on the pump rather than shots because it is just at the touch of a button rather than needle!. But I do think the pump causes me to become somewhat less carefull and less in control because I get carried away and it is too easy!. But if you stay in control, I feel the insulin pump is a great option and way more enjoyable!. However, may I suggest making sure you are serious about using the pump before purchasing it because of the expensive price tag!.
Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been type 1 for over 30 yrs!. I was taking 6 to 8 insulin injections a day!. I am now on a pump and love it!.
The pump has changed my life!. I lost 50 lbs!. I eat almost anything I want!. My AIC is usually 6!.0, very good for someone who usually had a 12 when on injections!.
Other then the heart problem that have recently developed because of poor control in my teens & early 20's I couldn't be any healthier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
