Question: I would like to know how long does it take for cozaar to get out of your system
i am a 45 yr old female ,who also has congestive heart failure!. i can no longer afford cozaar so i stopped taking it!. i am also taking coreg and a water pill !. what are the risks and how long will it take for the cozaar to completely leave my system!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know for sure how long it takes but it isn't more than 24 hours!. The reason I know this is because for the same reason as you I tried to quit taking cozaar!. The first day I was fine, the second day I started having pain in the back of neck and started with pains in shoulder going up my neck!. I thought I was having a stroke or heart attack!. This is exactly what can happen!. I went and had a refill on my prescription and started back on it!. I talked to someone at my doctors office and I had some papers filled out directly to the company!. I am now getting my cozaar at no cost!. You have to qualify first!. If you don't take it for a day you will feel the pressure back by the end of the day thats way its a pill every day ! If you have HF I don't recommend stopping it because your heart could be easily affected by the sudden change in pressure so stop it and start another one at the same time (see doctor first), Cozaar as I read is prescribed specially for HF or LVH cases so other blood pressure medication maybe good for BP but not helpful for heart failure!.
I recommend telling the doctor about your situation, their work might seem simple but some times they don't tell how many elements went into their mind to give you one medication instead of the other!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
