Hey that's happened to me before (embarrassing, isn't it!)!.
It will only take a day or two for the swelling to go down so don't be too worried!. Try rubbing some ice cubes on your lips and keeping them cool!. This will help get some of the heat out which is the main problem (just like other burns)!. Also, make sure you drink lots of water and keep hydrated!. Your lips should be back to normal in no time - good luck!

Edit: Try not to put chapsticks or lip gloss on either - as they usually are oil based and will not help at all! Instead, stick to aloe vera and more natural moisturisers!. Believe me though, having been there, the ice cubes work wonders!! And I doubt it is an allergy, a doctor's visit isn't necessary unless the swelling hasn't gone in a few days!. It is simply the sunburn on your soft lips!. For the future though, make sure when you're outside you use a lip balm with sunscreen in it!. Blistex is great!. I was using paw paw extract which makes your lips very soft and nice, but is rather oily and attracts the sun - ouch!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could have a sun allergy, or an allergy to something else!. Usually with an allergy, your lips will swell up, and then they go down but they're still sore from having swollen up the day before, so it takes a couple of days for them to feel normal!.

I grew up on the beach, but when I went back a few years ago!.!.!. I found that I reacted to the sea-water and even just the spray off of the water, making it so that my mouth and throat swelled up real bad (eyes, nose, everything really!.!.!.) So yeah, it could be the sun, or it could be something else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

honey you poor thing it must be so painful, my son did the same when we were on holidays, to the point he got sunstroke, i took him to the doctor, their advice for the swelling, is cool face clothe on the lips, this will reduce the blood capillaries!.

and when it goes down, put some moisturiser on them, but nothing with a fragrance as this will burn!.

Good Luck, and rest and drink lots of water!.

Don't go out in the sun without 30+ protection and a hat-sunburn can be very dangerous-skin cancers can kill like any other cancer!.
In the meantime treat the burn with aloevera gel-straight from the plant if you have one!.-and keep you face out of the sun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
