I have non small cell lung cancer stage iv!.!. but I also moderate a group that has both non small and small cell so know quite a bit about the small cell as well!.
First off, small cell responds quite well to chemo, more so than non small cell!. BUT it most always comes back after its been cleaned out of the body by chemo and radiation!. It is possible to keep it away, but big changes have to be made in the lifestyle, and even then that doesn't always keep it away!. Small cell is very invasive and prognosis is as bad as non small cell!.!.!.only in different ways!.
Most of us with cancer aren't in pain!. At least, not in pain from the cancer itself!. I am in extreme pain but from the chemo causing horrible damage to my bones!.
Some lung cancer patients do suffer towards the end, our lungs fill up with tumours and when the cancer spreads, it causes damage to our other organs which can produce pain!.

my dad had it, and he's in remission!. They found it early though so he had chemo and radiation and they removed his lung, they did a lot to make sure that it would go away and it did!. It's not painful, the chemo is just a pain and having the surgery is painful but the actual cancer does not hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
