Add a pinch of salt to the water and swish it around!. His electrolytes are probably imbalanced!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not an expert on fish, but I would try to get the water you usually get at the store!. Tap water sometimes has a very small amount of whatever chemical they use to purify it at the plant in it,or if you have a well, there could be different stuff in it as well!. In my experience, beta fish are pretty sensitive to changes like that, and even a simple pH level difference could throw their whole body out of whack!. If you keep him in the tap water for a long time, then he might get used to it, but if it were my fish, I would get the water as soon as possible from the store!. Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

there may be something in your tap water that is affecting the fish, so get the water you usually buy in there as soon as possible!. or, it could be that the fish is on it's last leg anyway, and it just happened that you put it in with the tap water!. you could've also put the fish in water that was either too cool or too warm for what he was used to!. just try to get him back into the water he's used to, and do everything like you normally would for him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I used to change the water in the fish tank, the night before I was going to do so I would fill a large bucket with water from the tap and let it sit til the next day!. If you're going to use tap water like I did, you need to let it 'sit' for a day before pouring it in the tank!. Letting it sit, let's some of the chemicals dissipate so they don't make the fish sick!. Hope this helps! Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to get special stuff (I think it's called chlorine remover) to put in the water or your fish will die!. Sounds like he is too far gone though so I'm sorry!. You should research what you do with your pets (different cities have different quality tap water) before you do it or situations like this will happen and you will kill your pet which is frankly, irresponsible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

He's probably suffering from shock with such a dramatic change in what he is used to!. Did you buy the bottled fish water they sell at the pet store!? Plus, when you add tap water, you NEED to use water conditioner for your fish! I guess, get either of the two things I mentioned soon, or just pray that he doesn't die!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may need to go to a pet store and get some chlorine remover for the tap water you put him in!. I had a beta fish one time and i was in the same situation you are in right now!. So i went to the pet store and got the chlorine remover and it worked!. I hope this works for you!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tap water is a no no for tropical fish!. The chlorine in the water has to be give time to dissipate!. In some areas, you have to use purchased water only, because the tap water is too full of chemicals!.

He might be ok in a while, since he is an air breather!.!.!.just watch him carefullyWww@Answer-Health@Com

When I had fish (before they ate each other or died of starvation), for about two years I always put tap water inside their bowl, and they were fine!. I didn't even know there is such a think as "normal fish water" :)

So yeah, it should not be any problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you done any research on beta fish!? the come from dirty water!.!.!. you are not supposed to change their water but once every 2 weeks (or a little longer)!. thats why he is acting like that!. the tap water has so many other chemicals that dont bother us but have such a strong effect on something so smallWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm almost positive you aren't supposed to use tap water when you are filling up your fish bowl, so your fish could be sick!. If you look on the internet it probably will say that you shouldn't use tap water for your fish bowl because it can make them sick!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe a vet can help!.!.!.!? i dont know too much about fishes but his time to "leave" is probably near!. i dont consider it "just a fish" i care for animals too!. maybe ur using water thats too cold or too hot or the lighting's bothering him!. just think of things that might be doing him harm and if none of those things work take him to the vet if they do specialize in fish!. hope ur fish gets well soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should go back to using mineral water!. And only change 1/4 of the water at a time cause there are tiny microbes that develop in the water and they are necessary for the fish's survival!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
