I have had the procedure!. It's a little uncomfortable, I felt a little bloated, crampy, and gassy!. (If he has the flex sigmoidoscopy- only 6 feet of tubing) For the Longer tubing, you are sedated, it's uncomfortable and you don't care!. He'll be a little tired and groggy following the procedure and someone will have to drive him home!. He should likely count on taking the rest of the day off from work!.

The prep for either procedure is no fun!. But hang in there, it's for a worthy cause!.!.!. "Bottoms up my good man"Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are referring to a colonoscopy - no, the procedure doesn't hurt you go to a medical site (usually in a hospital or medical center) where they give you a mild anesthetic!. The preparation for it is a little unpleasant - you either drink a solution or take a pill that will clean out your entire colon the evening before the colonoscopy - you will be on the throne for a while!.

If you are referring to a sigmoidoscopy - that's done in the doctor's office so I don't believe you are anesthesized!. That procedure examines only the lower colonWww@Answer-Health@Com

The worst part is the preparation!. You have to drink a laxative which tastes horrible!!!!! Yuck!! Whenever I think about it I get all squeamish!!!

With a colonoscopy, they sedate you and give you painkillers so you don't feel a thing!.

With the flexible signoscopy, or whatever its called, its not painful, just uncomfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're referring to a colonoscopy, no it doesn't hurt - they put you under!. The worst part is the preparation!. You have to clean out your entire gastrointestinal system!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nothing to it!.The worst part is the prep!.A friend of mind refused to do it,he died at 57 years old of colon cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My dad had one!. He said there was a little pressure but nothing major!. He'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
