High blood pressure question!
Question: High blood pressure question
I found out today my boyfriend has high blood pressure, he was at the dr's and they said it was 156/94, he knew it was high already b/c he was told so a couple years ago, although he wasn't given any medication for it, which he did get prescribed today!. He is only 28, not overweight, and exercises by playing golf at least a few times a week, he does smoke which I'm trying to get him to stop!. I just have a couple questions, first he had a drug problem 4 years ago(heroin and opiate addiction) could that have been what caused the high blood pressure!? And second did he not taking any medication for his blood pressure up until now damage him severly!? Bottom line is he gonna be okay, b/c I am really worried!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hypertension is hereditary!. Whereas the numbers are high they are not astronomical!. Keep in mind that it's when the numbers stay that high or higher and can't get them down that you chance heart attack and stroke!. If he's on medication and is exercising and STOPS SMOKING, his meds should control the elevated blood pressure with no problems!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I am not a doctor but,,,my son is 28 and he too had a drug problem same type as your boyfriend,,he had high BP when he was taking the drug of course you would!.!.he has been clean for 4 years and he is a smoker too but his BP is normal now!.!.!.his doctor told him high blood pressure has alot to do with hereditary so maybe it runs in your boyfriends family!.!.He does need to stay on his medication and do exactly what his doctor tells him to do!.!.As far as damage his doctor can do a test for that !.If it would give you peace of mind it is well worth it!.Best of luck to you!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
