There seems to be some mix-up here!.
Sores in the mouth are called aphthous ulcers (canker sore), that are due to some unknown cause, but usually occur after some trauma!. They are painful small ulcers that heal on their own!. Good oral hygiene with antiseptic mouth washes and some local application or anesthetic/steroid creams would heal them fast!.
But sores over the lips are called herpes labialis, caused by a virus, they are contagious and spread by contact!. These get increased during fevers and take longer time to heal!. Local application and taking oral Acyclovir would heal them!. But they tend to come back again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cold sores are caused by herpes virus!. Its infectious and will heal in time!. Good oral hygiene and mouth ointments will prevent them from coming back!. Do not share cutlery or kiss anyone until the sore heals!. If you have braces, chances are that what you have are not cold sores but mouth ulcers caused by the rubbing of the metal against the inner mouth and cheek!. There are medications for this that you can find at your local CVS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cold sores are usally caught from someone who already has one!. They are usallly found on the lips or outside mouth!. My mom uses Abreva and that really helps her get rid of them fast! i hope this helps! You might also be getting mixed up with cacersores which are found in the mouth and usally come around when you have a cold or a cold is coming on! Some people say salt water works well for these! /hope this helps get rid of them!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cold sore are a form of Herpes which is an STD!. But you can also get them if you have had a temperature; that is why they are sometimes called Fever Blisters!. Also, if you got a bad sumburn that can bring on the cold sores!. They are painful and try using some campho-phinique or Blistes!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
