What do these symtoms mean? Can anyone help?!

Question: What do these symtoms mean!? Can anyone help!?
I am 26, mom of 3!. For the past month I have been having some problems that are really starting to scare me!. The "episodes" start at night always, usually between 9-11 pm and lasting for 30mins-2 hrs!. I start to get severe cold chills, tingling and hot feelings in my head, numbness in fingers and feet, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, extreme dizziness, nauseous, lethargic, and frequent urination!. I have also had some blood in my stool but I don't know if it is enough to be worried about!. I have seen a doctor and he asked if I thought I was having panic attacks but this just seems highly unlikely!. So I saw another doctor and he thought maybe I am having seizures!. I have an appointment to see a neurologist on Tuesday which I am very nervous about!. I just want to make sure I ask the right questions!. My symtoms are really worrying me and I hope someone reading this may have some insight!. Thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, that does sound scary!. I'm sorry, I have no specific diagnosis, it's impossible to do in this forum!. But I do have some suggestions to help you prepare for interacting with your doctors!.

Think about your symptoms: do things seem to aggravate!? Help!? do they happen every night!? or at certain times in your cycle!? when you eat certain foods!? when you drink!? do you use recreation drugs!? (no judgement, just posing the question)!. Are you on other medications!? Have you had any recent illnesses (even those that might not put you in the hospital or call a doctor)!? Do you have any family history of any illnesses!?

Perhaps keep a diary of your symptoms, writing down when they start, what you were doing, what you had eaten, how long they lasted, what might have made them worse or better!?

I'm sorry your doctor just suggested panic attacks!. Did he do any blood work!? EKG!? x-rays or scans of any kind!?

My biggest advice is that if it is worrisome to you, then it may not be serious, but it is certainly something for you to advocate for and get some answers!. And don't be afraid to ask questions!. If it does not make sense to you, don't let the fact that they have "MD" after their name intimidate you!. You have a right to know what is going on with you, and you also have a responsibility to understand!.

Just my thoughts!. Best of luck to you!. I am glad to hear you are at least going to see someone!. Don't give up and keep asking questions!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Carrie, I've been a nurse for 30 years and I would never try to diagnose someone just be reading a description!. Listen to your physician!. Getting a second opinion was a good idea!.
When I started reading what you wrote, my first thought was you are having panic attacks!. But seizures are also a possibility!. Let the neurologist examine you and go from there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your taking any medications I would ask about that!. You could be having allergic reactions to medication or maybe it's something you are eating!. It does sound serious and I hope it all works out for you!. Try not to worry, because worrying only makes things worse!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm no expert, but I highly doubt this is a panic attack!. My husband gets those and they don't last more than 5-10 minutes!. Plus, they don't happen on a regular basis like you described!. They happen surrounding a certain type of situation, so unless you are having a stressful situation every evening at 9pm I really doubt they are panic attacks!. In fact, I am very surprised the doctor suggested that as a diagnosis!. Unless he has a really good reason for thinking that I would not return to that doctor!.

As for your appt with the neurologist, relax a little!. No matter what they say you will feel better knowing what is causing your symptoms!. I have been to a couple neurologists before and my advice would be not to let them rush you!. Take your time describing your symptoms and ask every question you can think of!. Write them down too because you will probably forget some of them when you walk through the door and start talking!. I'm sure you're going to be just fine! Www@Answer-Health@Com
