Question: Have I got diabetes!?
I think I am diabetic!. I am always thirsty and I always need the toilet, I am always sleepy, even when i've had loads of sleep, now and again I get blurred vision (for about 5 seconds) and I get dizzyness!. Also I put on loads of weight last year and this year I have lost a stone!. I told my mum about whats happening to me and that I think I have diabetes and she told me that i'm being stupid!. I asked her to take me to the doctors and she just laughed because she thinks it's a waste of time and that i'm not diabetic!. Is my mum right!? Or am I!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A doctor is the only way to know!. But you're in a position where your mom won't take you!. it's tough to be taken seriously as a teenager!. I get that!.
So buy a ketone test kit!. They're non prescription urine test strips and they should be negative!. If you're newly diabetic they'll be thru the roof!. Show your mom and she'll take care of you!.
Some people would suggest checking your sugar with a friend's monitor, but there's too much to consider when you read it!. It matters what you ate, how much, how long ago, what time of day it is and if you're not feeling well!. You're not seasoned enough to consider all the variables!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Katie, it certainly sounds to me like you may be diabetic!. If so it's important you get help before it gets any worse!. If your mom won't take you seriously can you talk to another relative that your mom will listen to!? What about your school nurse or school counselor!? This is a very serious matter!. Go to diabetes!.org for more information and have your mom read it too!. Maybe then she'll listen to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
the best way to tell is to take a fasting glucose test and that is ordered by your doctor if you are having all the changes in your body as you said i would try to get some help diabetes is nothing to play around with how old are you !? and are you in school!? your school nurse should be able to steer you in the right direction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Forget your mom, go to the doctor, she has no flipping clue what the hell shes talking about, my ex boyfriend was in your same position and he wasn't doing anything about it so eventually I made him go to the doctors, and if It wern't for me, he would've died!.!.
