I don't have insurance and I need a cheap meter!. Can anyone help me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There was a $20 off One Touch meter coupon in the Sunday paper coupons from a week or two ago!. You can take this coupon to most stores and get a One Touch Mini for free!. Wal Mart is a good place to take the coupon, they're always under $20 there!. The problem is that the One Touch meters you buy in stores don't come with strips, and the strips will cost $1 each!.

If you can wait a couple of weeks, you can request a free meter here:

I received one from here for my diabetic daughter, and it came with 10 free strips!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know what you would consider cheap but Walmart sells meters for around $65!. But the expensive part is the test strips and other supplies, because its a recurring expense!. Keep in mind that if you do get health insurance in the future you'll probably still be on the hook for all the Diabetes related expenses, including doctor visits, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, lab tests, and hospitalizations, because most insurance companies won't cover pre-existing conditions!. Makes one wonder is if Universal Health care might be a good idea after all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can order one from that one touch and they'll probably only give you a weeks supply of strips though!. There was a time when i didn't have insurance, and i asked my doctor and my diabetic educator if they had any extra bottles of insulin, testing strips etc, that I could have!. I got a 6 month supply from the doctor for insulin and a 6 month supply of strips from the educator!. Prescription companies provide them with samples!. If you ask your doctor, I'm sure he'd be happy to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Companies are giving away meters all the time!. It's the test strips that getcha!.

Most doctors, especially endocrinologists, will GIVE you a free meter!.

You will still have to pay for the test strips, though!.
