Can scoliosis have an effect on foot pain?!

Question: Can scoliosis have an effect on foot pain!?
My name is Daniel, I am 20 years old, and discovered my scoliosis when i was 16 years old!.

As of 12/21/2007, I have a 57 degree dextroscoliosis centered in the mid thoracic region, and a 30 degree levoscoliosis centered at the thoracolumbar junction!. The proximal and distal curve is a mild rotational component!.

My left shoulder is noticeably lower than my right shoulder!. My left ribcage is low, and my right rib cage is much higher!.

I always (pretty much, the entire time I am awake) have pain around the mid-upper left section of my back, and around my left ribcage!. Throughout most of the day, I'd give the pain rating a 5 out of 10!. If I am sitting for over 1 hour, the pain rating would go to a 7 of 10!. When I used to work, I would stand for over 2 hours, and the pain rating would go to a 8!.5 of 10!.

And I notice I get tired/exhausted very easily!. When I inhale hard, it's a little hard on my left lungs!. It doesn't really hurt, but I notice something is there!.

My doctor and spine surgeons recommend spinal fusion surgery!.

I am thinking about it, but there is something I want to know, first!.

I always get this very painful feeling around the entire outer edges of my right foot, during sports activities, and my right knee!. My left foot/knee is fine!.

1) Can scoliosis affect the balance of the feet!? Like putting more pressure on the left or right foot!?

2) My hips must be out of balance, could that contribute to my right knee/foot discomfort during sports activities!?

Thanks,

- Daniel

Answers:
I know scoliosis affects balance because it affected mine!. I couldn't jump up and come down straight!. Since each case of scoliosis is different, it wouldn't surprise me if you had issues with your knee and foot!. To some extent, it doesn't matter what is out of balance!. Your scoliosis has made your balance *in general* not too great!. Over time, that can mess up hips, knees, ankles, feet, etc!.

That sounds like some pretty major pain!. I was also very tired before I was fused!. It was part of the reason I had the surgery!. Your body works overtime dealing with scoliosis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes it definitely can!.!.!. think about it!.!. your spine keeps you in line and balanced and when your weight is distributed disproportionately, your feet will hurt from holding the unbalanced weightWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well, if there was ever a question about something :

I wouldn't answer it on this troll!. I do not play at night!. I don't get laid and I don't get others laid!. gross,Www@Answer-Health@Com
