If black mold is growing on my ac unit does it mean that I am breathing it in?!

Question: If black mold is growing on my ac unit does it mean that I am breathing it in!?
I recently have been having problems such as coughing and watery eyes, I discovered black mold outside of my apartment!. When I looked at my ac unit yesterday, I discovered black mold growing on the unit!. Does this mean that it is going through the air system!?!?!? I have a 9month old!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Christian,
You and your 9 month old are in grave danger!. Many people have become deathly ill from their AC unit that had toxic mold growing in it!. The toxic mold grows inside the unit!. Having first hand experience in toxic mold exposure and the following onslaught of the horrendous effects on the human body i suggest you and your baby leave immediately!!!!!!! If indeed you have toxic mold in the ac unit(you can have it tested) the toxic spores are all over your home and on your furniture!. Once the spores become airborne and leave the original mold source they become 400x more toxic!. These spores will be everywhere!. If your sick tell your docs you need anti-fungal meds asap!. Lamisil pills work great for this!. Ok God Bless and email me if you need more help!. Bye

You should probably open up the AC unit and wipe down all the internal compartments and surfaces you can reach with water and either bleach or hydrogen peroxide!. Give the coils a good spraydown of whatever disinfectant solution you choose!. Be sure to wear a dust mask while doing this or you will expose yourself to a big cloud of mold dust!. Also change the filter!.

Chances are if it's growing on the actual unit, it's not incredibly toxic mold!. The really bad stuff (Stachybotrys e!.g!.) usually grows on sheetrock, paper, and cardboard, so unless it's growing on paper (like a schematic diagram on the inside cover of the A/C for instance), it's probably not really bad!. But it could still definitely cause allergies so it should be removed regardless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES! I would contact the apartment manager to take care of this right away!. I would also call the health dept to report it!. Black mold is not something to mess around with!. I wouldn't recommend you cleaning it yourself (unless the ac unit is your property and not the apartments)!. If you are the one that has to clean it, make sure that you wear a mask and use diluted bleach to clean it!. When you disturb the mold spores, they get airborne right away and you don't want to breathe them in!.

If you are the one that owns the unit, your best bet is to throw out the ac unit and get another one!. That way you won't have to worry about if you cleaned it well enough!. This is your safest bet!.

You still need to talk to the apartment manager about taking care of the mold that is growing outside your apartment!. Especially with having a 9 month old inside!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a likely chance that there is an equal or greater amount of mold that you can't see!. This is a definite risk to not only you but other tenants, especially if the apartments are close or linking!. You should contact your landlord immediately!. Also, you will more than likely need to call in a professional!. As I said before, the mold you see now may only be a fraction of what is hiding / growing in other places!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. Your air conditioner does not draw air through the outside AC unit!.
It is common to have black mold growing outside the house especially if you live in a damp humid climate!. Just clean it up the best that you can with soap and water!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Clean it as best you can using disinfectant!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont know, but you should clean it as good as possible, maybe it is the cause of your problem
