How likely am i to develop heart disease in the future?!

Question: How likely am i to develop heart disease in the future!?
I am an 18 year old female and just found out my cholesterol is 234!.
i exercise normally, and try to eat as healthy as i can!. the doctor said the tests looked like i had been eating a lot of eggs and beef!.!.!.
i HATE eggs!. they make me sick, literally!. also, i eat beef only about once a week, because i prefer chicken over beef any day!.
my doctor also said i needed to be exercising an hour a day!. i havent really had time to work out this summer, because i work over 50 hours a week (no joke), but im CONSTANTLY doing something, i dont just sit around!. But during the school year, i go to the gym at my university every single day, im really good about that!.
besides genetics, i dont understand how my cholesterol could be that high!.
my paternal grandfather has heart disease, and i have 2 great uncles that have died from heart disease!.
what do you think my chances are of developing heart disease!? thanks!.!.

First, who couldn't lose a few pounds here and there!?

Family history is one of the strongest risk factors for heart disease!. It is one factor that cannot be controlled and there is no medication for!.
Your mother and father, your uncles, especially on your father's side, don't have heart disease, or at least not yet!. So having family history sort of in a distance doesn't really make you a candidate!. Yet, you should be aware and having high cholesterol is a concern but not really that good of a predictor, not any more at least!.

A lot of physicians, cardiologists, I work with say to treat a patient with high cholesterol, I might as well flip a coin to see if I should put them on medication or not!.

Work on your cholesterol, keep an eye on close family members and make sure they have appropriate testing for heart disease and wait till you get a bit older, you're just too young!.

There is a heart test that can easily tell one if they have signs of heart disease!. It is a CT scan test that looks for calcium in the coronary arteries!. I suggest your parents and your uncles and aunts have that test!. They're a lot more at risk than you are!. It'll give you a good look into your potential future as far as heart disease goes!.
