Tested positive for clymedia while pregnant, could it be that....?!

Question: Tested positive for clymedia while pregnant, could it be that!.!.!.!.!?
My cousin is 10 weeks pregnant and she tested positive for clymedia!. What I have read about this std so far is that it is easily treated and that its one of the most common stds there is!. Now our question is the next!. According to what we have read if you have had this std for a while it can make a woman infertile!. So does this mean that she barely contracted the std or is there a possibility that she had it nine months ago [wasn't dating her boyfriend yet and had a ****buddy who was the last guy she ever was with before her boyfriend and she never used protection] and never noticed!. And if that is the case that she got it from this guy why was she able to get pregnant if it suppose to make you infertile!? What we think is that she got it from her boyfriend since she did show symptoms but we want to explore other options of why she tested positive!. One other thing is it possible to get the symptoms after nine months!?

Please serious answers!.
And thank you for you time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The important word is "can!."

Having an untreated STD "can" lead to infertility, but that does not mean that it will happen!. Infertility generally occurs for women (and men) who have had the disease for long periods of time!. Some women may have had it for years and will have no problems getting pregnant!. Some women may have it for a few months and have problems getting pregnant as a result!.

There is no such thing as barely contracting an STD; you either have it or you don't!. Chlamydia is known as a "silent" disease, because it is entirely possible for someone to have the disease for months or years without knowing it!. She could have gotten from the man she was with before her boyfriend or she could have gotten it from her boyfriend!. If she had unprotected sex with other men before them, she could have gotten it from one of them!.

It is also possible that she would not have had symptoms for some time after contracting the disease; symptoms may show up after a few months because it remains untreated and is causing more damage!.

If your cousin has not told her boyfriend that she has Chlamydia, she will need to do so before having unprotected sex with him again!. If he has it, he will pass it back to her!.

And lastly, if your cousin continues to have unprotected sex, she will need to get tested for STDs at least once a year to ensure that she can avoid further complications should she contract another STD in the future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best thing for her to do is just get treated for it at this point, and tell her boyfriend to be tested and treated!. She should also tell her past sexual partners to be tested and if one of them has it then she'll know who she could have possibly gotten it from!. As a nurse I see a lot of patients come in with this and a few other STD s and I also speak to classes about safe sex!. The best advice I've gotten and given about sex is: if you're not or not sure about your partners monogamy get tested and use condoms always!.
